Anthony Kongats,
CEO
Anthony Kongats, CEO of CAP-XX, founded
the Company in 1997 as a vehicle to commercialize
the supercapacitor technology and intellectual
property spawned by CSIRO Australia and Energy
Storage Systems (ESS). Prior to CAP-XX, he was
the Managing Director of a manufacturer of passive
components. Mr. Kongats previously worked as a
management consultant with McKinsey & Co.
Inc. and held various engineering positions in Australia and Europe. He has
a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from the University
of New South Wales (UNSW), Bachelor of Science degree
from the University of Sydney, and an MBA
from AGSM/NYU.
Dan Auton,
Vice President, Sales & Marketing
Since 2002, Dan Auton has been responsible for
the Company’s sales and marketing activities
in North America, Europe and Asia. He is a senior
technical sales and marketing executive with over
twenty years of experience at Intel and three successful
startups – Cyrix, Tripath, and Parthus Technology.
His accomplishments include winning two annual
Intel Achievement awards, Intel’s highest
recognition honors. Mr. Auton has a bachelor’s
degree in electrical engineering magna cum laude
from North Carolina State University and has completed
extensive graduate coursework in business and engineering.
Chris Campbell,
Chief Financial Officer
Chris Campbell is responsible for financial
management including strategic and business planning
support. Mr. Campbell joined CAP-XX in 2001 with
more than twenty years of international business
experience in telecom, manufacturing, construction,
services, and sales organizations. Past positions
held include Chief Financial Officer and Executive
Director at Lucent Technologies Australia Pty Ltd.,
and Finance Manager for
the Australia/Asia Pacific group of Orica Ltd.,
Explosives Group (formerly ICI Australia Ltd).
Mr. Campbell has a Bachelor’s
degree in Commerce from the University of Newcastle
and is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered
Accountants in Australia.
George Karhan,
Vice President, Operations
George Karhan is responsible for manufacturing,
logistics, quality assurance, and human resources.
He has 32 years of experience in manufacturing,
process development, project financing and
business management with Australian and international
companies such as Baxter Laboratories, Inc., Citibank
N.A. Tooth &Co.
Ltd and APV PLC.
Recently, Mr. Karhan ran his own engineering
business (Comtec Australia) which he successfully
sold prior to joining CAP-XX. He has also been actively
involved in a medical devices
and plastics technology start-up, both
which resulted in successful product introductions
into specialty markets. Mr. Karhan graduated from Czech Technical
University in Prague with a Diplom Ingenieur (Dipl.-Ing.),
holds a Master's in Engineering (ME) from the University
of NSW, Sydney, and an MBA from Harvard University.
