CAP-XX supercapacitors are high power, low impedance
(low ESR) energy storage devices, designed to
overcome the power delivery constraints of batteries and other current-limited energy sources. They
feature an exceptionally thin profile (as little as 1mm), but have more than 100x the energy density of
conventional capacitors. With this high power, high energy performance, they can provide the peak power
required for high brightness LED flash (BriteFlash™), enhanced audio reproduction (BriteSound™) and
many other applications (BritePower™). By delivering the peaks, they allow designers to reduce the size,
cost and weight of the battery and other DC:DC components, or bypass the current-limitations of other
power supplies such as USB ports. And by maintaining power during interruptions to the primary source,
they protect valuable data and ensure system integrity.
CAP-XX products deliver:
- High power output for peak current loads (low ESR)
- Sufficient energy storage to handle power surges (high capacitance)
- Wide operating temperature range (-40°C - +85°C)
- Smallest devices available for given ESR and
capacitance (high power and
energy density)
